Hand thrown vase with naive handles by ceramicist Lotte Andrews.
Lotte's work is unlike anything else, it has a naive and illustrative quality both in terms of the making and the expressive hand painted decoration. The exaggerated and playful shapes she creates in clay are reminiscent of an illustration from a children's story.
This vase is decorated with an expressive and abstract floral motif; a pink base with green, blue + pink designs giving it a real feeling of Charleston Farmhouse.
Made by hand, by Lotte in her ceramics studio in Hever, Kent, irregularities may be present which are all part of the charm.
