Join ceramicist Jacs Doubell for a creative morning learning to sculpt your own clay robin.

Jacs is a local ceramic artist and maker who's work focusses on sculpting characterful animals and birds. Her pieces are lifelike yet have real expression through her use of the clay and the details she adds through mark marking.

In this workshop Jacs will show you the processes she uses to sculpt the nations favourite bird, and under her guidance you'll create your own characterful robin. The class will allow you to sculpt your bird and apply red glaze for the robins distinctive red breast.

As the clay needs to dry and be fired you won't take your robin home with you on the day. Once the clay is dry Jacs will apply some small finishing touches to the glaze before firing. Each sculpture will be fired and ready for collection approx 4 weeks after the workshop (just in time for Christmas) and can be collected from the shop in Alfriston or posted to you.

Workshops will be held in the magical upstairs space at our shop in Alfriston, East Sussex and limited to a maximum of 6 people. The small group size means that you'll benefit from lots of individual guidance and tuition.

No previous experience is required, and all materials and equipment will be provided.

Saturday 14th November from 10 - 1pm.
