When you believe in "buy less, choose well, make it last" it's very difficult to feel a connection to the Black Friday frenzy. I toiled with the idea for a while but in the end it felt right that we decided to opt out of Black Friday.
However, I recently discovered that Sat 5th December provides a chance to discover and champion small businesses of all kinds through Small Business Saturday. Now here's something more a kin to my own heart. From our own experience and that of friends we know the challenges involved in owning and running a small independent business. It's a juggling act of time, energy and courage to call something your own and set up shop, so here's a great opportunity to support those who do.
